Mike Runicles is Chief Operating Officer of Newmark’s Global Corporate Services (GCS) group, an integrated global platform that provides seamless, beginning-to-end corporate services solutions to clients around the world. As COO and the GCS Regional Leader for EMEA & APAC, Runicles leads the business for enterprise clients, and the development of global services, operations and partnerships for Newmark GCS.
Over three decades, Runicles has been at the forefront of development in the real estate, construction and facilities management industries. Runicles specializes in complex global partnerships including working with the world’s leading companies to create business solutions, adopt new technology/products and build diverse talent.
Runicles joined Newmark after 29 years at Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) from its inception in 1991. Initially named Procord, a spin-off from IBM, Johnson Controls acquired and grew the business to become Global Workplace Solutions, before being sold to CBRE in 2015. For the last 15 years, Runicles served on the executive board of GWS. During this time, he gained vast experience and insight, working across 105 countries and in multiple industry sectors reinventing businesses and accelerating corporate growth to break into new and emerging markets.
Runicles’ roles have included leading global B2B relationships for several key clients. At Johnson Controls, he launched the first global market unit to serve the Technology sector (2008-2011), taking it to a market leadership position, and then repeated this for the Global Industrial Market (2011-2014).
In 2014, Runicles was appointed as Vice President and General Manager for Johnson Controls’ Asia Pacific business and following its sale and merger to CBRE, served five years as CBRE’s COO - Asia Pacific, based in Singapore and Hong Kong. His primary focus was leading the Real Estate Advisory, Project Management and Facility Management business through a period of unprecedented growth.

Runicles graduated from the University of Westminster, London, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.
